Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ celebrated its 50th anniversary today with the announcement that single-match tickets will go on sale starting Friday, September 5.

First held in 1975 as the Asian Cup Ladies Football Tournament with just six teams, the competition has grown into Asia’s flagship women’s football tournament, inspiring millions and driving the development of the women’s game. Key milestones include the adoption of its current identity in 2005, the introduction of qualifiers in 2006, and the expansion to 12 teams at India 2022.

The 21st edition of the tournament returns to Australia for the first time since 2006 and will be staged across Perth, Gold Coast, and Sydney in world-class venues, including stadiums from the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023. The opening match at Perth Stadium is expected to draw a 60,000 crowd, as hosts Australia face the Philippines.

Tickets will start from AUD20 for adults and AUD10 for children, ensuring accessibility for fans.

AFC General Secretary Datuk Seri Windsor John said:

“For five decades, the AFC Women’s Asian Cup™ has produced role models and unforgettable moments. As we celebrate this milestone and open ticket sales, we look forward to welcoming fans to Australia to witness history in the making.”

The AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026™ aims to set new standards in competition, inclusivity, and innovation, reinforcing Asia’s leadership in women’s football.
