In coordination with the Kabul Provincial Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, the Kabul Kung Fu Federation and the National Kung Fu Federation launched the second phase of a refereeing seminar for the “To Ama” style at the Olympic Committee’s conference hall on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

The seminar trained 30 referees under the guidance of Meroz Nazari, head of the Kabul Kung Fu Federation, and national referee Hafizullah Faizi. Participants learned the rules of the “To Ama” style, scoring principles during matches, and distinctions between “To Ama” and other Kung Fu styles.

Dad Mohammad Painda Akhtari, Head of Olympic Affairs, highlighted the importance of such seminars:

“We must align ourselves with international standards and principles in sports, and seminars like this play a vital role in achieving that goal.”

The one-day seminar is part of ongoing efforts to improve refereeing quality, ensure fair competition, and strengthen Afghanistan’s presence in national and international Kung Fu events.

Refereeing seminars like this are critical to developing Afghan sports officials, providing technical knowledge, standard practices, and ensuring competitions meet international norms.
