Afghanistan’s national volleyball team delivered a commanding performance on Thursday, defeating the Maldives 3–0 in their second match at the Central Asia Volleyball Championship.

The Afghan side dominated throughout the sets, securing a convincing win that keeps them in strong contention for the next stage of the regional tournament.

Afghanistan will face Turkmenistan next on Friday (Lun 2) in what is expected to be a decisive clash for group standings.

The championship, hosted by Bangladesh in its capital, Dhaka, features six national teams from across Central Asia. The tournament began on October 22 and will continue until October 30, 2025.

The Central Asia Volleyball Championship serves as a key platform for emerging teams in the region to strengthen their international presence. Afghanistan’s recent win over the Maldives marks an encouraging step forward as the team continues to build form and confidence against regional rivals.
