The AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 will be staged across three Australian cities, Sydney, Gold Coast, and Perth, featuring the continent’s top women’s national teams in one of Asia’s most prestigious football tournaments.

According to the AFC, the media accreditation window is now open through the AFC Media Channel, where journalists can apply under one of three categories: Written/Digital Press (PRE), Photographers (PHO), and Non-Rights Holders (NRH).

Foreign media must submit their applications no later than Sunday, December 21, 2025, while the deadline for local Australia-based journalists is Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Late submissions may not receive equal consideration.

Applicants are required to upload a passport copy (valid for at least six months) and a recent personal photo (800×800 pixels, white background) to their AFC Media Channel profile before submitting.

In its announcement, the ASJF clarified that it will only facilitate accreditation support for its registered members through coordination with the AFC Media Channel. However, the federation emphasized that travel, accommodation, and visa arrangements are the sole responsibility of individual journalists or their respective media organizations.

The AFC noted that visa processing will be managed by the Local Organizing Committee in Australia, not by the AFC. Furthermore, successful applicants may undergo a background check by AusCheck, Australia’s security partner, before receiving final accreditation approval.

For continuous updates and competition-related advisories, media personnel can follow the official AFC Media & Broadcast Operations WhatsApp Channel or contact mediatv.ops@the-afc.com for assistance.

The AFC Women’s Asian Cup is Asia’s premier women’s football tournament and serves as a qualifier for the FIFA Women’s World Cup. The 2026 edition marks another milestone in the development of women’s football across Asia, promising high-level competition and global media attention.
