Inspired by one of the region’s most iconic literary figures, Juha has been chosen to represent the cultural identity of the upcoming tournament. The character, often portrayed as a well-meaning figure whose humorous stories lead to unexpected wisdom, is celebrated across Arab societies for his simplicity and insight.
FIFA officials stated that the selection reflects the tournament’s goal to showcase shared Arab heritage and unite regional fans in a celebration of football and culture. Sixteen teams will compete for the trophy in the final stage. Nine nations have qualified through the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking, while 14 others will play single-leg qualifiers on 25 and 26 November in Qatar to decide the remaining seven spots.
Tickets for the event are now available on FIFA.com/tickets, with prices starting from QAR 25. Supporters can also purchase Follow My Team tickets, which grant access to all group-stage matches involving their chosen team. Organizers said fans will be offered cultural programs and entertainment throughout the competition.
The opening match will take place on 1 December at Al Bayt Stadium, featuring hosts Qatar against the winner of the Palestine vs. Libya qualifier. The final is scheduled for 18 December at Lusail Stadium. Other venues include Stadium 974, Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Education City Stadium and Khalifa International Stadium.
Qatar is hosting a series of FIFA competitions through the end of the year, including the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup’s “Derby of the Americas” on 10 December and the concluding matches of the FIFA Challenger Cup from 13 to 17 December.
The FIFA Arab Cup provides a competitive platform for teams across the Arab world while showcasing the region’s cultural heritage. Qatar previously hosted the tournament in 2021, drawing strong regional interest and laying groundwork for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
