The race for the four signature performance belts at DP World ILT20 Season 4 has opened sharply, adding competitive fire to the early phase of the tournament. The Green Belt (Best Batter), White Belt (Best Bowler), Red Belt (Most Valuable Player) and Blue Belt (Best UAE Player) have quickly become the centre of player ambitions, with standings shifting after every match.
Gulf Giants opener Pathum Nissanka has seized control of both the Green and Red Belt races following three successive half-centuries, amassing 204 runs in just three innings. His all-round influence has earned him 281 MVP points, the highest so far in the season.
Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai leads the White Belt standings with nine wickets from his first three games, backed by consistent breakthroughs and disciplined spells. Meanwhile, Desert Vipers’ Khuzaima Tanveer tops the Blue Belt leaderboard with 154 points, the result of 50 runs and six wickets across his opening performances.
The ILT20 belt system, introduced in earlier seasons, has become a defining feature of the league, offering USD 15,000 in prize money for each category winner in addition to the championship rewards of USD 700,000 for the Black Belt (tournament winners) and USD 300,000 for the runners-up.
Last season’s honourees included Sam Curran, who secured the Red Belt as MVP with 387 runs and seven wickets. Shai Hope took the Green Belt with 527 runs, Fazalhaq Farooqi earned the White Belt with 21 wickets, and Mohammad Waseem claimed the Blue Belt as the UAE’s top performer.
The ILT20’s detailed points system continues to reward aggressive batting, disciplined bowling and dynamic fielding. Performance metrics include run accumulation, boundary bonuses, wicket tallies, dot-ball pressure, and fielding contributions such as catches and run-outs. Notably, composite bonuses do not apply, and Super Over performances are excluded from belt calculations.
The DP World ILT20 has positioned itself as a major global franchise tournament, with its belt system offering an additional competitive dimension beyond match results. The league’s rapid growth and high-profile international participation have strengthened its identity, making the belt races a key storyline each season. As Season 4 progresses, player standings are expected to fluctuate sharply, particularly with several teams yet to complete their opening round of fixtures.
