The ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup begins today, Thursday, with three matches, as Namibia and Zimbabwe co-host the global youth tournament.

The competition will run until February 6, bringing together under-19 national teams from around the world.

On the opening day, India face the United States, Zimbabwe play Scotland, and Tanzania take on the West Indies, according to the match schedule.

Afghanistan’s Under-19 national team will play its first match on Friday against South Africa. The Afghan squad has played two warm-up matches against Australia and Sri Lanka in preparation for the tournament.

The final of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup is scheduled to be held on February 6.

Afghanistan has continued to invest in youth cricket in recent years, with the Under-19 team seen as a key pathway for developing future national players.
