The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has confirmed the participation of Afghanistan’s Abu Muslim Farah FC in the AFC Challenge League for the 2026/27 season.

The Asian Football Confederation has announced the list of clubs that will participate in its three major men’s club competitions for the 2026/27 season, including the AFC Champions League Elite, AFC Champions League Two, and the AFC Challenge League.

According to the AFC, a total of 93 clubs from 38 member associations will take part in the continental competitions. Afghanistan will be represented by Abu Muslim Farah FC in the AFC Challenge League (ACGL), the third-tier club competition in Asian football.

The AFC Challenge League preliminary stage is scheduled to begin on August 11, 2026, while the group-stage draw will be held on August 20, 2026.

The AFC Challenge League is designed to provide clubs from developing football nations with greater opportunities to compete at the continental level. Abu Muslim Farah FC’s inclusion in the 2026/27 competition marks Afghanistan’s representation in one of Asia’s premier club tournaments.
