Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana has expressed confidence that her team can return to winning ways when it takes on Pakistan in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 on Saturday.

Bangladesh began its campaign with a six-wicket victory over the Netherlands but suffered a nine-wicket defeat against Australia in its second match.

Despite the setback, Nigar believes her team has the quality and experience to respond positively against a familiar opponent.

She highlighted Bangladesh’s strong record against Pakistan and stressed the importance of maintaining a positive mindset rather than dwelling on the loss to Australia.

The Bangladesh skipper also emphasized the significance of scoring runs during the powerplay, noting that strong starts are crucial to easing pressure on the batting lineup.

Meanwhile, Pakistan enters the match still searching for its first win of the tournament after defeats to India and South Africa.

Although Pakistan pushed South Africa close in a narrow two-wicket loss, bowling coach Umaid Asif acknowledged the importance of securing victories as the tournament progresses.

He described every remaining match as a must-win encounter and said the team would approach the Bangladesh clash to keep its semi-final hopes alive.

Bangladesh currently has one win and one loss from its opening two matches, while Pakistan remains without a point after consecutive defeats. The outcome of Saturday’s match could prove crucial in determining both teams’ chances of reaching the knockout stage of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
