
National ceremony recognizes international achievements as sports officials underline unity and progress.

Afghan athletes who won medals at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain and the Islamic Solidarity Games in Saudi Arabia were formally honored during a special ceremony organized by the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports and the National Olympic Committee of Afghanistan.
The event was attended by senior sports officials, representatives of the Office of the Prime Minister, government authorities, athletes, coaches, and members of the media. Speakers described the athletes’ achievements as historic, highlighting sport as a symbol of national unity and collective pride.
Officials emphasized that improved security conditions have contributed to the revival and growth of sports across the country, enabling Afghan athletes to compete successfully on international stages and represent Afghanistan with distinction.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, medal-winning athletes received awards, including cars and motorcycles. At the same time, coaches were presented with various gifts in recognition of their role in preparing and supporting the athletes.
The ceremony reflected ongoing efforts by sports authorities to publicly acknowledge international success and encourage continued participation and achievement in regional and global competitions.
