The Afghanistan national futsal team suffered a 5–2 defeat against Iran in their third match of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026.
Despite the loss, Afghanistan managed to score twice, with Reza Hosseinpour and Mohammad Javad Safari each finding the net.
The AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026 is being hosted by Indonesia in Jakarta, featuring 16 national teams. The tournament began on 27 January and will continue until 7 February.
Afghanistan are competing in Group D alongside Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Iran.
