Afghanistan completed a dominant 3–0 ODI series sweep over Bangladesh with a crushing 200 run win in the third match at Abu Dhabi on Monday. After posting 293 for 9, the Afghan bowlers bundled Bangladesh out for just 93, marking one of their biggest ODI victories.
Openers Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz gave Afghanistan a flying start with a 99-run stand. Gurbaz made 42 off 41 balls, while Zadran anchored the innings with a composed 95, adding 74 more with Sediqullah Atal for the second wicket.
Part-time offspinner Saif Hassan briefly halted the momentum with figures of 3 for 6, triggering a middle-order collapse. But veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi turned the tide in the closing overs, smashing 62 not out off 37 balls, including six sixes and four fours. His late assault lifted Afghanistan to 293, with 44 runs coming in the final two overs.
In reply, Bangladesh’s batting crumbled once again. Only Saif Hassan offered resistance with 43 off 54 balls, while others fell cheaply to Afghanistan’s relentless attack. Young seamer Bilal Sami claimed his maiden five-wicket haul (5–33), and captain Rashid Khan struck early blows, taking 3 for 12 in a mesmerizing spell.
Bangladesh were dismissed inside 28 overs, continuing their struggles from the earlier games.
The emphatic 3–0 ODI sweep marked a statement series for Afghanistan, coming after Bangladesh had won the T20Is by the same margin. Strong performances from Zadran, Nabi, and Rashid underline Afghanistan’s growing consistency across formats as they prepare for next year’s international calendar.
