The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has officially announced it will host the Sri Lanka national team for a comprehensive limited-overs series this March. The tour features three International Twenty20 (T20I) matches followed by three One Day Internationals (ODIs), taking place in the United Arab Emirates from March 13 to March 25, 2026.

The series kicks off in Sharjah for the T20I leg, with matches scheduled for March 13, 15, and 17. All T20I fixtures will commence at 7:00 PM Afghanistan time. Following the shortest format, the teams will move to Dubai for the ODI series, with matches set for March 20, 22, and 25, starting at 4:00 PM Afghanistan time.

ACB CEO Naseeb Khan emphasized the strategic importance of this hosting opportunity, stating, “We are eager to host the Sri Lankan national team for a full series for the first time”. He further noted that the board is committed to strengthening bilateral ties with ICC members to secure more high-quality fixtures for the national squad.

This series is part of the ACB’s broader strategy to prepare the national team for upcoming major international and Asian tournaments. By organizing these bilateral series, the board aims to identify and address areas of the squad that require improvement, ensuring the team remains competitive on the global stage. This specific tour follows a period of strong performance by Sri Lanka, promising a high-intensity contest between two of Asia’s premier cricketing nations.
