An arm wrestling tournament featuring 20 participants was held in the Bagram district of Parwan province on Tuesday, aimed at promoting traditional sports and encouraging youth involvement in athletics.
The competition was organized by the Directorate of National and Local Games in collaboration with the Parwan Directorate of Physical Education and Sports.
At the end of the one-day tournament, Qais claimed first place while Atiq secured second, earning recognition among local athletes and spectators.
Traditional sports like arm wrestling remain popular in Afghanistan, fostering community spirit and preserving cultural heritage while motivating young athletes to stay active and competitive.
