
KABUL, June15, 2015 – The Afghanistan Sports writer’s federation president SayerZaland on Monday met Jaan Alam Hussaini, the acting director of Afghanistansport and Physical education Federation.
During themeeting the ASWF president briefed the sports leader on the activities of thesport journalists in the country. President Zaland also highlighted the aims ofASWF and AIPS to the acting director Mr. Hussaini
During themeeting ASWF president Sayer Zaland briefed the country’s national sport leaderon the growth of sports journalism in the country and urged the Afghanistan sportand Physical education Federation to consider building relations with nationalwriter’s body.
Jaan AlamHussaini commended the ASWF president on his job over the last few months. Hussainialso asked Zaland toseek his national associations help provide some training opportunities forAfghanistan sports journalists.
Afghanistanis now growing up in the field of sport the national cricket team hasparticipated in the last ODI cricket world cup and now they are preparing to qualify for theupcoming T20 cricket world cup.
The nationalfootball team also participated in the last Asian tournament and now theAfghanistan national football team is playing in their first 2018 World Cupqualifying matches.
Although theAfghanistan’s football fans were left disappointed on Thursday night when thenational team was beaten by Syria six goals to nil in their first 2018 WorldCup qualifying match but they played in front of a fairly strong Afghan supporters livingin Iran.
Afghanistanwill play their remaining three home matches – against Japan, Cambodia andSingapore – in Iran.
Zaland saidright now we don’t have any Afghan journalist to participate and cover thesegames but ASWF rely want from the afghan government and the Olympic nationalCommittee to help with the Afghan journalists and ASWF members.
Afghanistansport writer’s federation has more than 10 members and 10 provincialsassociations all around the country. But the demand is high for the membershipand hopefully will get more than 100 journalists in this year.
