Twelve teams compete in the Firozkoh Autumn Volleyball Cup, launched to promote the sport and unity among youth.

The Autumn Volleyball Cup officially began on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in Firozkoh, the capital of Ghor province. The event was inaugurated in the presence of Jan Mohammad Haidari, Technical and Professional Deputy of the Ghor Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education, and Sports.

Twelve teams from across Firozkoh city are taking part in the competition. In the opening match, Ettefaq defeated Salaran with a convincing 3–0 victory.

According to organizers, the tournament will continue for two weeks. The primary goals of the competition are to promote volleyball in the province, identify emerging talent, and strengthen unity and solidarity among young athletes.


Volleyball is among the most popular sports in Afghanistan, particularly in the western provinces such as Ghor, Herat, and Farah. Local tournaments like the Autumn Cup play a vital role in sustaining community engagement and providing opportunities for youth participation despite limited sports infrastructure in the region.
