
A one-day Buzkashi competition featuring 50 riders was held in Mazar-e-Sharif, with Enamullah and Mustafa securing the top two final al-alaqs.

A one-day Buzkashi tournament was organized in Mazar-e-Sharif by the provincial representation of the Afghanistan Buzkashi Federation in cooperation with the Balkh Department of Physical Education and Sports. The event took place at the Proji Alam Khan Azadi grounds, bringing together 50 riders from across the province.
According to match officials, two final al-alaqs were announced. Pahlawan Enamullah secured the first al-alaq, while Pahlawan Mustafa claimed the second. Both brought the carcass into the halal circle and were awarded a combined prize of 100 dollars by Shafiq Sangcharaki.
Organizers stated that the tournament aimed to support and promote traditional Buzkashi culture in Balkh Province.
Buzkashi remains one of Afghanistan’s most culturally significant traditional sports, with northern provinces such as Balkh regularly hosting tournaments to preserve and strengthen local sporting heritage.
