An open one-day boxing event brought together 80 athletes across age categories, focusing on talent identification and grassroots development.

A provincial boxing competition was held in the Third District of Jalalabad city, Nangarhar province, with the participation of 80 athletes. The event was organized by the Nangarhar Directorate of Physical Education and Sports in coordination with the provincial representative office of the Boxing Federation.

The competition featured bouts in junior, youth, and senior age categories, providing a broad platform for participation. At the conclusion of the event, 40 boxers recorded victories against their opponents.

Officials said the competition served as an opportunity to assess athletes’ performance levels and encourage wider engagement in the sport.

The one-day event was aimed at identifying new boxing talent and strengthening the development pathway for the sport at the provincial level, as Nangarhar continues to host regular grassroots competitions across multiple disciplines.
