
The district-level football league in Marghab, Ghor, began with 12 teams competing to promote local talent and strengthen the sport’s presence in the province.

Sports officials in Ghor announced that the First Division Football League of Marghab district officially began. The tournament is organized by the district’s Football Federation in coordination with the provincial Department of Physical Education and Sports.
The opening ceremony was attended by Jan Mohammad Haidari, President of the Ghor Football Federation, Mohammad Kohistani, district representative of the federation, and several local officials and community members.
Haidari said the opening match was played between the Ettehad, Darichad, and Sayed Oaz teams, ending in a draw. “This league will continue for two weeks,” he said. “Its purpose is to promote football at the district level and identify talented players for the Marghab district’s representative team.”
According to organizers, the league includes 12 participating teams and aims to encourage youth engagement in sport, build community unity, and strengthen the foundation of football across Ghor province.
