The world’s leading journalism contest for sports media will close entries on November 4, 2025, inviting journalists from all platforms to submit their best work free of charge.

With just 15 days left before the submission window closes, the AIPS Sport Media Awards 2025, the most prestigious global recognition for sports journalists, continues to attract entries from across the world, already surpassing 100 participating countries.
Organized by the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), the Awards honor outstanding work in writing, photography, audio, and video, alongside the Young Reporters Under 30 category. Each journalist can submit up to two works, published between November 5, 2024, and November 4, 2025.
Participation is completely free, and entries can be submitted via the official website www.aipsawards.com until November 4, 2025, at 10 p.m. CET.
The competition features eight senior categories, with cash prizes of US$5,000 for first place, US$3,000 for second, and US$2,000 for third. The Young Reporters winners will receive scholarships to cover major international sports events.
AIPS President Gianni Merlo described the Awards as “a true celebration of the best sports storytelling worldwide,” highlighting their role in defending journalistic values such as freedom, equality, and integrity in sport.
The Awards’ final ceremony will take place in April 2026 in Lausanne, Switzerland, where the top five finalists in each category will be invited to attend.
Founded in 2018, the AIPS Sport Media Awards have become a global benchmark for excellence in sports journalism. Since their inception, more than 5,000 journalists from 166 countries have participated. The initiative reflects AIPS’s century-long mission, established in 1924, to promote independent sports journalism and strengthen global media solidarity.
