The Afghanistan Football Federation has launched a specialised FIFA referee training course in Kabul, aimed at improving officiating standards through international instruction.
The six-day programme officially opened on Monday at the Afghanistan Football Federation headquarters and is being conducted under the supervision of three international FIFA instructors. According to the federation, three FIFA-approved Malaysian educators are leading the training of 30 Afghan referees.
Participants will receive both theoretical and practical instruction, focusing on the latest refereeing laws, recent regulatory updates and key technical aspects of match officiating.
Officials from the Afghanistan Football Federation said such programmes play an important role in raising the technical level of referees and helping them prepare for more effective participation in domestic and international competitions.
FIFA-supported referee education programmes are part of broader efforts to standardise officiating and improve match management across member associations.
