First organized tournament in over two years lifts spirits of locals in besieged city.

For the first time in over two years, an organized football tournament was held in Gaza. Football returned to the city on a small, makeshift pitch surrounded by ruined buildings, as teams Jabalya Youth and Al-Sadaqa faced off in a five-a-side match that ended in a draw.
Almost all major stadiums in Gaza have been destroyed or converted into shelters for displaced people, making this return of football a rare moment of joy and normalcy for residents living amid the devastation.
