Authorities in Herat confirmed that Adel, a talented and respected player, died in what has been described as a mysterious incident. An investigation is underway, and officials have not yet released further details.

The Afghanistan Football Federation expressed “deep sorrow” over his passing, calling Adel’s death a major loss for the country’s sports community. In an official statement, the federation said Adel had left “valuable memories for fans and teammates through his commitment, hard work and sporting spirit” during his years with Sarsabz Yashlar Faryab, Surkhposhan Herat, Toofan Harirod Herat and Simorgh Alborz.

Teammates and friends described Adel as a disciplined and humble athlete with strong leadership qualities. “He had a bright future in football. This loss has shaken all of us,” one teammate said.

Family members have called on authorities to clarify the circumstances of his death, while tributes continue to be shared by players, coaches and supporters across Afghanistan.

The death of Adel has renewed concerns about the safety and support structures available to young athletes in Afghanistan. Football communities across the provinces have urged stronger protections as the sport continues to grow and attract large numbers of youth nationwide.
