Hamburg: Bundesliga newcomer Hamburger SV has strengthened its midfield with two high-profile Deadline Day signings from Arsenal: Albert Sambi Lokonga and Fábio Vieira.

The 25-year-old Belgian Lokonga is expected to control the tempo from a deeper midfield role, while 25-year-old Portuguese Vieira brings creativity and playmaking skills to HSV’s attack. Data from Global Soccer Network (GSN) rates both players highly, with potential to become key game-changers for the club.

The new signings arrive after a challenging start to the season, with HSV recording just one point and no goals in the opening match. Lokonga and Vieira trained with their teammates for the first time on Tuesday, quickly integrating into the squad and drawing praise from captain Yussuf Poulsen and coach Merlin Polzin.

GSN analysts say the duo addresses specific gaps in HSV’s roster, with Lokonga providing controlled ball progression and Vieira improving final passes and set-pieces. While both players have yet to establish themselves fully at Arsenal, HSV hopes their arrival will give the club the quality needed to stabilize its Bundesliga campaign.

The Bundesliga season continues this weekend as HSV looks to translate new signings into immediate impact on the pitch.
