Samson’s 97 powers India into the last four; England await in the next clash

India defeated West Indies by five wickets in their final Super Eight match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 to secure a place in the semi-finals.

After winning the toss, India opted to field first. West Indies posted a competitive total of 196 runs, putting early pressure on the Indian side.

In response, India began cautiously before Sanju Samson turned the game around with a commanding 97 off 50 balls. India chased down the target with 199 runs in 19.2 overs, sealing victory with five wickets in hand.

With the win, India advanced as the second-placed team from Group One and will face England in the semi-final.

The 2026 T20 World Cup remains one of the most significant tournaments in international cricket, with teams competing to secure global supremacy in the shortest format of the game.
