A ceremony to recognize and encourage champion athletes of Kabul’s recent shooting selection competitions was held at the hall of the National Olympic Committee in Kabul. The event was organized by the National Shooting Federation in collaboration with the General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education and Sports.
Athletes who excelled in trap, pistol, and rifle disciplines were honored with certificates of appreciation and honorary plaques for their achievements.
The ceremony was attended by Mawlawi Ahmadullah Wasiq, President of the Olympic, Physical Education and Sports Department, Hafiz Ahmad Jan Zadran, Deputy of Technical Affairs, Mawlawi Abdul Naser Hashimi, Director of Finance and Administration, Mawlawi Atiqullah Khalid, Head of Kabul Physical Education and Sports, along with federation leaders and athletes.
Speaking at the event, Mawlawi Ahmadullah Wasiq expressed pride in the accomplishments of Afghan shooters and emphasized that the sports administration will continue its comprehensive support for athletes and federations.
Shooting has been gaining popularity in Afghanistan, particularly in Kabul, where regular selection events are held to identify top athletes for national and international competitions. The recognition of successful athletes aims to boost morale, encourage broader participation, and strengthen Afghanistan’s presence in precision sports.
