A grassroots football festival, organized by the Afghanistan Football Federation in coordination with the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA), brought together 200 young players from Kabul-based clubs in a one-day event at the federation’s training ground.
The festival featured participants from junior and youth age categories, who showcased their skills through structured activities and match displays designed to encourage early engagement in football.
Senior officials from the national sports administration and football leadership attended the opening ceremony, underscoring institutional support for youth development initiatives.
Organizers described the event as part of broader efforts to identify emerging talent for national youth teams, while promoting grassroots football and encouraging wider participation among children and teenagers.
The initiative reflects ongoing attempts to build a sustainable football structure in Afghanistan, where early-stage talent identification remains critical to long-term national team development.
