The seventh Yama Petrol Afghanistan Buzkashi League opened in Kabul with opening-day wins for Kunduz, Badakhshan, and Sar-e-Pul.

The seventh edition of the Yama Petrol Afghanistan Buzkashi League began on Tuesday at Kabul’s Yakatoot Stadium, with Kunduz, Badakhshan, and Sar-e-Pul registering convincing victories on the opening day of competition.

Kunduz launched their campaign with a 4–1 win over Balkh in the opening match. In the second fixture, Badakhshan delivered the most dominant performance of the day, defeating Bamyan 17–4. Sar-e-Pul then closed the program with a 10–3 victory against Samangan.

The league is organized by the National Federation of Buzkashi, Spear Throwing, and Traditional Games in cooperation with the General Directorate of Olympics, Physical Education and Sports.

The Yama Petrol Afghanistan Buzkashi League features 11 teams from Kunduz, Faryab, Balkh, Badakhshan, Takhar, Bamyan, Sar-e-Pul, Panjshir, Samangan, Baghlan, and Herat, with foreign players also participating. The seventh edition of the league is scheduled to run for 11 days at Yakatoot Stadium in Kabul.
