FIFA launches structured, quota-based application process for global media representatives and non-rights holders via the Media Hub.

FIFA has officially opened the media accreditation window for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, running from January 26 until the deadline on March 31, 2026. The process is managed exclusively through the FIFA Media Hub and applies to written press, photographers, and non-rights holders (NRHs).
Due to anticipated high demand, accreditation for the written press and photographers is governed by a quota system managed through individual FIFA Member Associations. Applicants must obtain a “control key” from their respective national association to proceed. However, media based in the host nations—Canada, Mexico, and the USA—will follow a separate coordination process managed directly by FIFA. Confirmations and approvals are expected to be dispatched starting in March 2026 following mandatory security checks.
The FIFA World Cup 2026™ will be a historic tournament, featuring an expanded format across three host nations for the first time. FIFA emphasizes that accreditation serves only as entry to the Stadium Media Centre; matchday access to tribunes, pitch-side positions, and press conferences requires separate “media tickets.” These tickets can only be requested by accredited individuals via the Media Hub or the FIFA Media App, with requests currently limited to group-stage fixtures.
