Nangarhar dominate final to secure national title

The Nangarhar provincial team has claimed the title of Afghanistan’s First-Class Provincial Cricket Championship, following a commanding victory in the tournament final, the Afghanistan Cricket Board confirmed.

The competition, which began on 15 Jadi 1404, was jointly hosted by the provinces of Nangarhar and Khost and concluded at the Najibullah Tarakai Cricket Ground in Nangarhar. The tournament brought together provincial sides as part of the ACB’s efforts to strengthen the domestic first-class structure.

In the final match, Nangarhar delivered a dominant all-round performance, defeating Nangarhar-B by 124 runs. The result underlined the team’s consistency and depth throughout the competition and secured them the championship trophy.

Officials described the tournament as a key platform for identifying emerging talent and reinforcing Afghanistan’s domestic cricket pathway, with strong performances expected to feed into future national selection considerations.
