
The national kickboxing trials featuring 180 athletes from 31 provinces concluded in Kabul with 33 fighters chosen for the Afghanistan national team.

The twelfth edition of Afghanistan’s national kickboxing selection tournament concluded in Kabul, with 33 athletes securing places on the national team after three days of competition involving 180 fighters from 31 provinces.
Hosted by the Kickboxing National Federation under the Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education and Sports, the event was held at the 2,500-seat sports gymnasium. The closing ceremony took place at the Olympic Committee conference hall with participation from Deputy Technical and Professional Director Hafiz Ahmad Jan Zadran, Office Director Fazal Rahman Bari, Technical Director Hamidullah Safi, Federation President Shir Mohammad Hashimi, and a large number of athletes and officials.
The tournament, contested in the open-weight category above 51kg, saw Kabul province take first place in the team rankings, followed by Herat in second and Faryab in third. In individual results, Qudratullah from Kabul secured first place, Sabghatullah from Badghis finished second, and Sajid from Khost claimed third. Medals and certificates were presented to the top performers by federation officials.
The competition aimed to identify the strongest contenders for Afghanistan’s national kickboxing squad ahead of upcoming international events.
