New Zealand recorded a comprehensive 61-run victory over Sri Lanka in their Super 8 clash played under floodlights.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, New Zealand scored 168 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs, setting a target of 169 for Sri Lanka.
In response, Sri Lanka struggled against tight bowling and regular wickets in the middle overs, managing only 107 runs for eight wickets at the end of 20 overs.
The win marks an important step for New Zealand in the Super 8 stage, while Sri Lanka now faces increased pressure to qualify for the next round.
