Islamabad: Pakistan is set to host Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in a T20I tri-nation series beginning on November 17, with all three teams facing each other twice before the final on November 29 in Lahore.

The first two matches will be played in Rawalpindi, while the remaining five games, including the final, will take place in Lahore, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed.

This marks the first time Afghanistan will face Pakistan on Pakistani soil. Previously, Afghanistan played matches in Pakistan during the 2023 Asia Cup and earlier this year for the Champions Trophy, but never directly against Pakistan.

PCB COO Sumair Ahmed said the tri-series will serve as crucial preparation ahead of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. “This event will not only offer excellent preparation but also bring fans top-quality T20 cricket,” Ahmed noted.

Pakistan had earlier turned two bilateral T20I series—against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka—into tri-series events, as the team looks to maximize its T20I exposure before the World Cup.
