Paktika bodybuilder Wakil Ahmad Paktin completed a 62-kilometer run from Sharan, the provincial capital of Paktika, to the center of Ghazni, an effort that quickly gained attention among sports followers across the country.

Following the run, Paktin was honored during a ceremony in Kabul attended by sports officials, where his achievement was described as a rare individual endurance effort in Afghan sport. Speaking at the event, Paktin said he hopes to one day represent Afghanistan at international competitions and bring pride to the country.

He also emphasized that increased attention and support for athletes could play a crucial role in the development of sports nationwide. Sports officials said the run had received a positive response from the public and highlighted growing interest in athletic activities beyond major cities.

Officials from Paktika’s sports department said efforts are underway to expand sports culture to underserved and remote areas of the province, creating opportunities for new talent and strengthening grassroots participation.
