Persib Bandung booked their place in the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26 knockout stage after defeating Bangkok United 1–0 in their final Group G match at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium on Wednesday. Ramon Tanque’s header in first-half stoppage time proved decisive as the Indonesian club topped the group on 13 points, while Bangkok United advanced in second place with 10.

Persib began aggressively and nearly took an early lead after being awarded a penalty in the third minute, only for Bangkok United goalkeeper Patiwat Khammai to superbly tip Uilliam’s spot-kick onto the post. The Thai goalkeeper delivered a standout performance throughout the match, keeping his team in contention with multiple crucial saves.

The hosts continued to dominate, with Federico Barba, Thom Haye, and Tanque all threatening. Haye struck the post from distance before forcing Patiwat into another acrobatic stop from a 35-yard drive. Persib’s pressure finally paid off moments before the halftime whistle, when Tanque met Berguinho’s cross with a low header beyond the rooted goalkeeper.

Bangkok United showed more intent in the second half, with Suphan Thongsong and Philipe Maia testing Persib’s keeper Teja Paku Alam. However, the home side continued to create chances, as Guaycochea went close, substitute Andrew Jung headed over, and Patiwat denied attempts from Beckham Putra, Saddil Ramdan, and Julio Cesar in quick succession.

Bangkok United’s final opportunity came through Everton, whose glancing header beat the goalkeeper but struck the crossbar, confirming Persib’s position at the top of Group G.

The AFC Champions League Two features clubs across Asia competing for promotion into the continent’s top-tier competitions. Persib Bandung’s progression to the knockout stage reflects their strong domestic form and consistent performances in the group phase, while Bangkok United advances despite the loss, relying on their earlier results.
