A two-day buzkashi tournament in Aybak city ended with 80 riders competing, as champions Sifatullah and Shafa secured the final halals to win the event.

A buzkashi tournament featuring 80 riders concluded on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 (21 Aqrab 1404), in Aybak city, organized by the provincial representative of the National Buzkashi Federation in cooperation with the Samangan Department of Physical Education and Sports.

In the final round, riders Pahlawan Sifatullah and Pahlawan Shafa successfully carried the buzkashi goat to the halala circle, earning the top prizes of the competition.

Organizers stated that the two-day event aimed to promote buzkashi and foster unity among local communities.

Buzkashi remains one of Afghanistan’s most traditional and culturally significant sports, especially in northern provinces. Local tournaments continue to attract large crowds and serve as an important platform for supporting young riders and preserving the heritage of the sport.
