Saudi Arabia will look to strengthen their position at the top of Group B when they meet Comoros on Friday at Al Bayt Stadium in Matchday 2 of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025.
The Green Falcons opened their campaign with a confident 2–1 win over Oman, driven by Salem Al Dawsari, who created both goals for Feras Al Brikan and Saleh Al Shehri. Head coach Herve Renard said his side must maintain the same tempo in their second outing.
“We faced a tough and experienced team, and we succeeded thanks to our composure. We will continue our journey until we win the title,” Renard said.
Al Shehri echoed that ambition, emphasising that Saudi Arabia’s objective is clear. “We scored twice and got the three points. Our target is the title, but first we must advance from the group,” he said.
Comoros, meanwhile, enter the match after a 3–1 defeat to Morocco in their opener and need points to keep their campaign alive.
In the group’s other fixture, Oman face a must-win meeting with Morocco. After Tuesday’s loss to Saudi Arabia, Carlos Queiroz’s side have no margin for error. Veteran Ali Al Busaidi is expected to lead Oman against a Moroccan team that impressed in their opening match.
Oman will be eliminated if they suffer a second consecutive defeat.
