The Afghanistan Taekwondo Federation has launched a series of joint winter training sessions in Kabul as part of its efforts to develop emerging talent and better prepare athletes for international competitions.
According to a statement from the federation, the training programme brings together members of the national youth and junior teams, internationally decorated athletes, and experienced taekwondo practitioners. Sessions are scheduled to take place every Wednesday under the supervision of the national team head coach at the Afghanistan National Taekwondo Teams Sports Hall.
Federation officials said the initiative is designed to raise technical standards and reinforce discipline ahead of future regional and international events. The statement stressed that consistent training, dedication, and the ability to overcome challenges are essential for athletes seeking success at elite level.
The federation also confirmed that athletes from provinces across Afghanistan are welcome to join the programme, provided they cover their own logistical arrangements.
Officials described the winter training camp as an important step in maintaining continuity and competitiveness within Afghan taekwondo during the off-season.
