The Kabul Provincial Cricket Department has officially launched its annual U19 fifty-over tournament, featuring 18 teams from 13 cricket academies across the capital.

According to officials, the competition aims to assess young players’ abilities, strengthen development pathways, and identify emerging talents for higher-level teams. The matches will be played over several days, with top sides advancing as the tournament progresses.

Opening-day fixtures showcased strong performances as participating teams displayed high energy and competitive spirit. Organisers say the event is an important platform for Kabul’s young players, offering structured opportunities to gain experience in a formal match environment.
