Visa refusals prevented several Afghan athletes and national teams from competing abroad in 2025, Molvi Ahmadullah Wasiq confirmed during a televised interview.
He said that despite preparation, some teams were unable to travel due to administrative and diplomatic barriers.
Afghan athletes have faced visa issues for a long time, and foreign countries are creating problems in issuing visas to Afghan athletes.
Sports analyst Khan Afzal Hadawal described visa access as one of the most serious challenges facing Afghan sport, noting that training alone cannot replace competition.
ASJF President Khushhal Taib said international federations should help ensure athletes are not excluded for non-sporting reasons.
