Global anti-doping body invites cities to host key technical conferences
LAUSANNE | By Sayer Zaland
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has launched a formal Request for Proposals (RFP) to identify host cities and countries for three major technical events scheduled for 2027.
The events include the Athlete Biological Passport Symposium, the Global Education Conference, and the Therapeutic Use Exemptions Symposium. Interested hosts must submit applications in English and/or French by 17:00 EDT on April 24, 2026.
WADA said the initiative aims to structure the hosting allocation process and ensure equal opportunity for all stakeholders. While 2027 is preferred, early 2028 may also be considered to avoid clashes with other major anti-doping and sport-related events.
WADA was established in 1999 as an independent international agency leading the global movement for doping-free sport. It works in partnership with governments and the Sport Movement to harmonize anti-doping rules worldwide through the World Anti-Doping Code.
