Kapisa: The Nisar Ahmad Bahawi Sports Complex was buzzing with energy today as the province hosted an exciting traditional arm wrestling championship in youth and adult divisions.
Organized by the Uni-Fight Club under the auspices of the Martial Arts Federation, the event brought together 50 talented athletes to compete in a sport deeply rooted in Afghanistan’s cultural heritage.
The competition aimed to both preserve traditional games and inspire young people to embrace sports.
The tournament was attended by Abdul Khalil Kohistani, Director of National and Traditional Games, alongside dozens of passionate fans who cheered on every match.
In the adult category, Farid emerged as champion, followed by Sherzai in second place and Firdous in third.
In the youth category, Tamim secured first place, Eimal finished second, and Noorullah took third.
At the closing ceremony, prizes provided by the Kapisa Directorate of Physical Education were presented to the winners by officials and fellow participants.
Event organizers said such competitions are essential for keeping Afghanistan’s traditional sports alive while fostering sportsmanship and friendship among athletes.
