TBILISI: EuroBasket 2025 is shaping up as one of the most talent-packed editions in history, with a record number of NBA players representing 18 franchises across 24 participating nations. Hosted in Riga (Latvia), Katowice (Poland), Limassol (Cyprus), and Tampere (Finland) from August 27 to September 14, the tournament has attracted the biggest names in European basketball – and beyond.

NBA Stars Dominate Across Groups

Group A boasts a stacked Serbian roster featuring Nikola Jokic (Nuggets), Bogdan Bogdanovic (Clippers), Nikola Jovic (Heat), and Tristan Vukcevic (Wizards) – arguably the strongest team on paper. Latvia counters with Kristaps Porzingis (Celtics), while Portugal’s Neemias Queta (Celtics) and Turkey’s Alperen Sengun (Rockets) bring additional firepower.

Group B sees Germany, led by Dennis Schroeder (Kings) and Franz Wagner (Magic) as top challengers, while Finland’s Lauri Markkanen (Jazz) promises scoring fireworks. Montenegro’s Nikola Vucevic (Bulls) adds experience and elite scoring ability.

In Group C, Greece’s Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks) headlines the action, supported by Bosnia’s Jusuf Nurkic (Blazers) and Georgia’s Goga Bitadze (Magic). Spain’s new generation, led by Santi Aldama (Heat), is also one to watch.

Group D features France’s rising NBA stars, including Bilal Coulibaly (Wizards) and Zaccharie Risacher (Hawks), while Israel’s Deni Avdija (Blazers) aims to shine. Slovenia’s Luka Doncic (Lakers), already a EuroBasket legend, looks poised for another MVP-caliber run.

Historic Participation and High Stakes

With over 40 NBA players spread across 24 national teams, this year’s EuroBasket marks a new era of global basketball integration, giving fans a rare chance to see the NBA’s brightest stars clash in national colors.

As the tournament heads toward its knockout stages, all eyes will be on Doncic, Jokic, Giannis, and Markkanen to see if they can carry their nations to glory in one of the most competitive EuroBasket editions ever.
