18 Players Shortlisted for Afghanistan Volleyball Team Ahead of Central Asia Championship

The first phase of the Afghanistan national volleyball team training camp concluded in Kabul after a month of intensive practice, marking a key step toward the upcoming Central Asia Championship.

The camp, organized by the Afghanistan Volleyball Federation in collaboration with the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, featured 30 athletes from across the country. Under the supervision of head coach Mohammad Asadullah, the players underwent both theoretical and practical sessions focusing on technical skills, fitness, and strategy.

At the closing ceremony, senior sports officials, including Hafiz Ahmad Jan Zadran, Deputy Director for Technical and Professional Affairs, and Molavi Dad Mohammad Baryal Atai, Head of Guidance and Sports, praised the athletes’ efforts and emphasized discipline, hard work, and national pride as they prepare for international competition.

The second phase of the camp will select the final 14 member squad to represent Afghanistan at the Central Asia Championship scheduled to begin on October 22, 2024.

Afghanistan’s volleyball team has been steadily improving in regional competitions. The Central Asia Championship provides the national squad a chance to compete against top teams and showcase emerging talent from across the country.
