Afghanistan’s national futsal team has qualified for the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup after a dominant 8-0 victory over Myanmar in the final qualifying match held in Yangon on Wednesday.

The result ensured Afghanistan’s direct entry into the continental tournament, which will feature 16 top teams and take place in Indonesia in 2026.

Afghanistan had started the qualifiers strongly with a resounding 10-1 win over the Maldives in the opening match, maintaining consistent form throughout the competition.

The qualifying tournament, which featured 31 teams across eight groups, kicked off on September 20 in Myanmar and concluded on September 24.
