Cricket’s fiercest rivalry will reach a new milestone on Sunday as India and Pakistan face each other in an Asia Cup final for the very first time.

Pakistan secured their spot with a tense 11-run victory over Bangladesh, defending 135 thanks to stellar bowling from Shaheen Shah Afridi (3 for 17) and Haris Rauf (3 for 33). India had already sealed qualification earlier in the week, setting up a dream clash.

The final, to be played in Dubai, is expected to capture worldwide attention as the two giants of Asian cricket battle for continental supremacy.

Since the Asia Cup’s inception in 1984, India and Pakistan have met frequently in group and Super Four matches but have never contested a final. The 2025 edition now breaks that long-standing pattern, delivering one of the most anticipated match-ups in the tournament’s history.
