A one-day traditional spear-throwing competition concluded in Paktika province, organized by the provincial representation of the National Federation of Spear-Throwing, Buzkashi, and Regional Games under the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports.

A total of 37 teams participated in the spirited tournament held in Sharana, the provincial capital of Paktika. After an exciting series of contests, Etefaq Club claimed the championship title with 68 points, followed by Khairkot Club with 56 points, while Yusuf Khel Club finished third with 50 points.

Organizers said the event aimed to promote Afghanistan’s traditional and national sports, strengthen community engagement, and encourage youth participation in cultural athletics.

At the conclusion ceremony, prizes and trophies were distributed to the top three teams in recognition of their outstanding performances. The tournament highlighted the growing enthusiasm for preserving traditional Afghan sports in the southeastern region.
