A traditional Kurash tournament featuring 60 athletes was held in the Kaldar district of Balkh province, provincial sports officials said on Thursday.
The event was organized by the Department of National and Traditional Games in cooperation with the Directorate of Physical Education and Sport. Organizers said the competition aimed to promote traditional sports and strengthen local participation.
According to officials, five matches ended in draws, while 25 athletes defeated their opponents and received prizes for their performances.
The tournament lasted one night and attracted spectators from nearby villages, marking one of the district’s key traditional sporting events of the season.
