
Eighty-five wrestlers competed in a one-night Kurash event aimed at promoting traditional sports and community engagement.

A night-time Kurash wrestling competition was held in the Aqi Bai area of Imam Sahib district in Kunduz province, bringing together 85 wrestlers in an open-format tournament.
The event was organized by the Kunduz Directorate of Physical Education and Sports in cooperation with the Sambo Kurash Federation’s provincial representative office. In addition to local athletes, wrestlers from Jawzjan province also took part in the competition.
A total of 42 wrestlers secured victories over their opponents, with Kunduz athletes achieving the highest number of wins to claim first place overall in the tournament.
The competition was organized to promote national and traditional sports and to provide healthy recreational activities for residents of Imam Sahib district. The one-night event drew strong local interest, reflecting continued engagement with traditional wrestling disciplines in northern Afghanistan.
