A three-day traditional wrestling competition has begun in the Mizan district, bringing together athletes from multiple districts across Zabul province.

A local traditional wrestling competition involving 150 athletes has started in the Mizan district of Zabul province, organised by the provincial Directorate of Physical Education and Sports in coordination with the Department of National and Traditional Games.

The three-day event brings together wrestlers from the districts of Mizan, Arghandab, Shinkay, Daman, Shahr-e Safa, as well as athletes from Qalat city and the Trank area.

Officials said the competition aims to promote national and traditional sports while providing healthy recreation for local communities. Matches are scheduled to continue over the next three days.

Traditional wrestling remains one of the most popular local sports in Zabul, with such events seen as an opportunity to preserve cultural heritage and encourage wider participation in physical activity across the province.
